Ladle turret for Ruifeng Steel gets stamp of approval

The ladle turret for Ruifeng Steel’s 3-strand slab caster has passed joint inspection at CISDI Equipment Co. and will now be delivered to the project site.

Both customer and manufacturer witnessed the inspection to ensure it met all design requirements.

The ladle turret’s innovative, patented structure features short arms and four link rods, which enables a total load-bearing capacity of 900 tonnes (2x450t) and gives a 6,500mm rotating diameter.

Arms A and B are separate structures, making manufacture, installation, commissioning and maintenance easier.

With an equal-strength design concept, CISDI conducted Finite Element Analysis, minimising the stress load on main components. The ratio of equipment weight to its bearing capacity is a world-class indicator and improves the safety and reliability of the overall equipment.
