Two ultra-high-temperature, ultra-high-pressure power generators built by CISDI have helped Shandong Fulun Steel save energy and win an environmental award.

CISDI-patented energy conservation and green technologies are key features of the generators and have contributed to a remarkable increase in gas power-generating efficiency and numerous cost savings at Fulun.

The steel plant’s gas is now fully recoverable, a green credential which has helped Fulun win a blue-sky protection campaign.

As the EPC-based contractor, CISDI has built the generators and their utilities. CISDI’s centralised control system enhances the power plant’s automation and streamlining levels, while reducing the onsite workforce and reducing labour costs.

         High performance miniature units

CISDI designed the power plant with ultra-high-temperature, ultra-high-pressure units featuring an intermediate reheating turbine. The unit’s designed pressure is 13.7MPa and its temperature is 571 deg. C, the highest performance data of its kind.

The plant’s calculated power generation efficiency is 39.14 per cent and will create benefits of around $37 million.

         Reduced-labour and centralised control

Fulun’s intelligent, centralised power plant control system built by CISDI manages a wide range of procedures - from the machinery, furnaces and generators to DeSOx, DeNOx and utilities. The automatic, streamlined and efficient operation and control has enabled Fulun to reduce the number of onsite operators by 20 per cent.

         Ultra low emissions

CISDI’s latest gas power generation tech has been brought into play at Fulun. Dry desulphurisation and selective catalytic reduction-based denitration recovers all excess gas from the blast furnace, coke oven and basic oxygen furnace. Zero gas bleeds out.

The power plant has met China’s ultra-low emissions standard in addition to China’s top-level energy conservation targets.

Construction took nine and a half months, despite problems posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of workers was protected at all times and CISDI arranged buses to transport team members and sub-suppliers between their hotel and the site. Every step of the construction process was kept on schedule and in the shortest time frame for a project of this kind in China.
