Micro-nano film sensor showing strong potential

Another groundbreaking CISDI development, the MEMS thin-film temperature sensor, is in the pipeline.

It is the first online hot flow measurement for a slab caster’s mould.

The sensor has been tested successfully at Chongqing Steel’s slab caster 3.

The test provides new solutions for high temperature measuring. It gives timely and accurate readings of temperature and hot flow variations during the casting speed up and down process for an entire tundish-fly operation.

Data from the test will be used to improve sensor performance. There is real potential for it to replace conventional thermocouples and to upgrade the breakout forecast model.
