Work starts on smart factory for Hongsheng Copper

The smart factory for a high-purity cathode copper production line broke ground at Hongsheng Copper Co. in China’s Hubei Province.

This smart factory, based at Yangxin County in Huangshi City, will be built by CISDI and ENFI, a non-ferrous engineering company which operates under MCC.

The CISDigital industrial internet platform will be applied, creating a digital plant and transferring production data to values.

Production organisation will be optimised and streamlined. The resulting improvements in cost performance, tech and efficiency will set a shining example for the sector in China.

Hongsheng Copper is owned by the Daye Nonferrous Metals Group and is based in China’s Hubei Province.

This clean copper production line will process around 1.60 million tonnes of copper concentrates a year and produce around 400,000 tonnes of high-purity cathode coppers and 1.50 million tonnes of sulphuric acids.
