UK’s Bromford Iron Ltd Stand 9 Replacement Spare

CISDI’s manufacture of specialist spare parts for UK’s Bromford Iron Ltd Stand 9 Replacement is almost complete.

Bromford Iron Ltd has shown great faith in the quality of CISDI’s spare parts supplies for a number of years and is an important customer.

Based on massive analysis of 42CrMo forgings and stainless steel cutting characteristics, innovative finish machining tools have been applied and specially-designed cutting parameters have been set to ensure the machine’s precision – the roll’s central parallelism has to be no more than 0.03 millimetre.

Every detail of the machining process has been carried out with total precision.

3-roll cross mill for a China’s tube rolling line

CISDI is currently manufacturing China’s largest-calibre seamless tube rolling equipment.

The cross/rotary rolling mills will be used to produce 300,000 tonnes of seamless tubes annually, with an outer diameter range of 273 to 508 millimetres.

The mills, which will weigh over 200 tonnes in total, feature complicated structures and massive volumes.

The mill stands are critical components. Welding of the 250mm super-thick plates and T-shape structures requires adept craftsmanship. Expert skills are also required for the machining of its large structural members and for the assembly process.

CISDI Equipment Co. has formulated tailored solutions for the project after in-depth studies. The most critical welding work for the stands has been carried out to a high standard under challenging preheating conditions. Every procedure quality has been strictly controlled. All connecting pieces feature perfect welds and meet all contractual standards.

All welded stands have now gone for machining.

Universal mills delivered to China’s Yongyang Special Steel

Intelligent, high-precision universal mills for a rail and beam rolling line have now been delivered batch by batch to Yongyang Special Steel in China’s Hebei Province.

The EMCD450 and UMCD450 mills have been optimised for critical component manufacturing technologies based on the experience of their manufactures for Yongyang Light Rail mills.

Innovative tooling skills have been applied to their commissioning, greatly improving the stand assembly, commissioning efficiency and final product quality.

A number of core design and manufacture technologies have ensured more precise, smoother fabrication and assembly:

-       High-rigidity housing

-       Advanced, stable technology control system

-       Integrated automatic roll gap control and hydraulic position control.

The application of CISDI’s intelligent mills at continuous section rolling lines will achieve the pass and micro-tension self-adaptive control for special steel section mills.

They will transform rolling process automation and intelligent levels, resulting in high-grade overall product quality and greater production efficiency.

A combined testing and inspection process was successfully implemented for the mills. All activities required in the Equipment Inspection Programme were completed smoothly. Grade I precision was met, as specified in China’s national standard GB50386-2016 The Code for Installation and Inspection Acceptance for Mill Machinery.
