R&D: First application of CISDI’s model B WESP for achieving ULE

CISDI has applied its first wet electrostatic precipitator featuring model B combined type to Baowu TISCO’s basic oxygen furnace in Taiyuan City in the Shanxi Province.
The innovative WESP will be installed to the BOF’s primary dry dedusting system, which is due to be modified, and is scheduled to operate in March 2022.
Model B WESP makes a breakthrough of the model A WESP which has been operating at TISCO’s four BOFs since 2019 and features wet dedusting designs.
CISDI now possesses the critical expertise for BOF dry and wet dedusting methods: model A WESP is recommended for a wet system while model B is for a dry system. Both can bring about ultra-low emissions.
Model B integrates fume cooling, dehydration and fine dedusting functions into one tower, which takes up less space than conventional systems requiring three separate towers. This results in lower investment costs.
In addition, it continues model A’s actions in its west electrostatic precipitator, super-efficient dehydrator and gas cooling.
CISDI’s WESP tech is continually advancing to meet the ever-stricter national ULE policy and environmental assessment standards for an integrated steel plant with BF and BOF at its core.
