Jiangyin Bofeng Steel has double cause to celebrate.
A revamped flat bar rolling line at its base in China’s Jiangsu Province was hot commissioned and entered continuous production on the same day.
Chongqing-based CISDI Equipment Co was responsible for the line’s plant design and mechanical-electro-hydraulic equipment and supplied onsite technical assistance.
The line was rebuilt with CISDI’s 3-stand short-stress path vertical rolling mill and 5-stand 4-hi mill with support rollers.
The process arrangement was improved to a one-vertical, two-horizontal, one-vertical, two-horizontal, one-vertical and one-horizontal mill layout.
The upgraded line produces flat bars in a specification range of 8x100mm to 16x310mm. In addition to being able to cover 130 specifications of flat bars, the outline dimensions of products have greatly improved.
An intelligent recording and learning function has been applied to the line, giving rise to greater labour productivity.
CISDI’s team spent almost three and a half months rebuilding and hot commissioning the line, working through challenges posed by the pandemic and high summer temperatures.
