S&T: Intelligent industrial heating platform gets results at Xichang Steel-Vanadium

CISDI has put its latest smart product, an intelligent industrial heating platform, online at Xichang Steel-Vanadium Co in China’s Sichuan Province.
A group of 2,050mm reheating furnaces for hot rolling is the first user.
The ageing furnaces worked with automation control systems from different suppliers. Limited input data made it difficult to understand hardware and software problems and to identify the intertwined interfaces.
CISDI’s team carried out an in-depth survey of all required systems and proposed highly-performing centralised control solutions.
To ensure existing production could continue, the team put the modules for the furnaces' new platform online in a step by step process. This will also ensure the task is easier when the platform eventually needs to be replaced.
All main functions have now been commissioned and the furnace group’s production is controlled in a centralised way. Production at the new, CISDI-built furnaces 3 and 4 is also controlled on this platform.
Compared to CISDI’s upstream-ironmaking and a wider range of centralised control products, this platform is more focussed on intelligent, lightweight control on individual processes and procedures.
Its different levels of intelligent control products can meet all industrial heating requirements.
