A hot-dipped continuous galvanising line has successfully gone into operation at Jianlong Shanxi in China’s Shanxi Province.

Part of phase I for a new cold rolling project (1,500mm specification), it was built by CISDI to an EPC mode.

The CGL features a horizontal galvanising unit, designed to produce 250,000 tonnes of high-end Zn-plated sheets a year.

Modified Sendzimir tech has been applied, enabling simpler, more flexible and reliable production and creating products with higher quality, strength and greater adaptability.

The CGL consists of entry, process and exit sections.

At the entry, two pay-off reels, welders and inlet loopers ensure continuous and stable production.

The process section houses the main facilities for degrease cleaning, the continuous annealing furnace, zinc pot, coating control, post-coating cooling, skin pass mill, tension leveller and post treatment functions.

Advanced combined chemical and electrolytic cleaning tech is applied for degreasing.

Modified Sendzimir heat treatment tech heats feedstock by direct flame and indirect radiation at the annealing furnace.

The outstanding quality and efficiency of the furnace’s combustion control system is reducing energy consumption.

The CGL’s exit section has loopers. They are indispensable, maintaining continuous production through the line. Loopers ensure the process section can produce normally in the event of coil product discharge from the exit, or sheet surface inspection.

CISDI’s team worked through extreme July and August temperatures, speeding up schedules to reach the hot commissioning stage within nine months.
