CISDI is set to build intelligent gas holders and a booster station at Dazhou Steel in China’s Sichuan Province.

The gas holders will re-utilise gasses from the coking, ironmaking and steelmaking plants.

Safer and stabler operation will be achieved and manpower costs will be reduced dramatically.

Automatic alarming and interlocking, remote centralised control, a safety instrument system and programmable logic control means no onsite attendants are required.

In an emergency, the gas holders can be halted by one simple touch-button.

CISDI is building a 200,000-cubic-metre POC-type BFG holder, one 100,000m3 POC-type COG holder and a 120,000m3 Wiggins-type LDG holder, its booster station and auxiliary facilities.

Each smart gas holder features a single section of membrane seal, which helps to increase the gas holder’s pressure, volume, throughput and service life and also improves piston stability.
