Intelligent Manufacturing: CISDI’s high-precision HSM full-process model and control tech ranks top in China

A CISDI development is featured in a list of 2023’s most competitive metallurgical products, created by China’s Metallurgical News.

The publication, which is now in its sixth year of authoritative appraisals, assessed products by mathematical model testing and a panel of experts, plus online voting.

CISDI’s high-precision HSM full-process model and control tech won its place on the list.

Now used in over 10 hot rolling lines, the HSM model is achieving world-class results for steel enterprises including HBIS Yanshan, Ningbo Steel, Benxi Steel, Guangxi Shenglong and Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel.

Results achieved:

●       Daily, monthly and yearly record-breaking indicators at 1,780mm hot rolling lines

●       Mass production of common hot rolling’s ultra-thin specifications (below 1.5mm)

●       Control of finishing mill’s automatic roll change time to within 8 minutes

●       World-class product quality indicators

●       Creation of a new product development platform

●       Efficient ops management of lines.

Software products for manufacturing modular, standardised and series strips will now be developed from the tech.

CISDI’s branded tech has been applied at Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel’s 1,780mm hot rolling line. The line’s daily output record has now reached a new high and is stably producing ultra-thin specifications, with finishing mill roll changes completed inside eight minutes.

Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgical Co has applied CISDI’s tech at its 1,780mm hot rolling line, enabling an annual production capacity of 6.06 million tonnes. The line’s daily output in April 2022 saw 876 coils created - a record in China

The CISDI-built 1,580mm hot rolling line at HBIS Yanshan Steel produced 1.0mm and 1.3mm thick strips in the first six months after startup and stable mass production was achieved
