—— Per capita crude steel output has increased by 300 tonnes a year and costs have reduced by USD 20.84 per tonne of crude steel

Binxin Steel in China’s Jiangsu Province has transformed its entire phase I processes to digital.

This smart plant upgrade has been empowered by CISDI, utilising CISDigital® solutions. The digitally upgraded plant has now been operating for a year and has optimised the plant’s organisational structure and its operations.

Specific cost reduction and efficiency enhancement goals have been achieved. Higher standards of business flow streamlining, technological systems and techno-economic indicators are operating smoothly across the plant.

Binxin’s original operation conditions had been created with a view to developing a digital infrastructure at a future point.

The plant now has a CISDigital® unified industrial internet platform, with a smart control centre covering an area of around 4,000m2.

The centre digitally serves 15 major production procedures and commands their operational control and management. It connects over 18,000 devices and units and collect more than 10 billion points of production data.

On this smart manufacturing platform, 940 smart applications in 10 categories have been composed.

CISDI Information Technology Co’s Binxin phase I digital transformation is making a valuable contribution to reducing steel manufacturing costs and enhancing efficiency.
