—— Publication aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of the Chinese steel sector’s digital transformation

Guide contains CISDI’s experience in data-empowered digital transformation, gained from dozens of successful intelligent steel manufacturing projects

A visionary guide has been launched to help the Chinese steel sector advance to higher smart and green standards through digital transformation.

The Guidance for China’s Steel Sector Digital Transformation Engineering and Construction has been published by China’s Iron & Steel Association, with CISDI as its managing editor.

CISDI is a trailblazer for the high-quality development of China’s steel sector.

In its commitment to transforming the sector to digital, it has successfully completed dozens of intelligent steel manufacturing projects - which cover all procedures, areas and production processes.

Its experience in data-empowered steel manufacturing is included in the publication, which gives comprehensive information on how steel enterprises can transform their entire operations - from design, research and development processes to production, control, operations and industrial chain coordination.

The guide also illustrates how going digital brings massive benefits to a company’s cultural and organisational management and reaps huge ecological benefits for the environment.

The core aim of steel digital transformation is to unleash data values to improve the competence of a plant’s digital delivery, the digital research and development of its products, improve coordination control and optimise the full production process, facilitate smart decision-making for unexpected operations, and increase resilience and efficiency in industrial chain collaboration.

Multiple approaches are proposed:

Ÿ   The structure and construction contents of steel sectoral digital transformation: a new-generation digital tech and flat system structure is created with digital tech and industrial information security as its support, covering plant design and construction, product and process design, steel manufacturing and ops management.

Ÿ   A number of support measures in organisation, culture, concept, talent pool, resources and standards.
